Should I buy a new or used wheelchair/scooter accessible van?
Purchasing a wheelchair van depends on your budget and credit rating. The benefits of purchasing new are the warranty, and the APR financing available from the auto manufacturer. Used wheelchair vans offer affordability and are thousands less than new vans. Our "Certified Pre-Owned" vehicles are a great alternative to purchasing new. An extended warranty also makes used accessible vans an attractive option. All the used vans converted by Adaptive Mobility Systems have brand new conversions, come with 7/70 warranties and have gone through a rigorous 75 point checklist.
What is not included in your advertised wheelchair van prices?
There is a $175.00 documentation fee added to every handicap van we sell. If you are purchasing outside the state of Georgia (85% of our customers do), there is a delivery charge. If you chose to fly into Atlanta to pick up your wheelchair accessible van, we will provide up to a $300 discount on your van. Please be sure to read about our nationwide delivery pricing and pickup discounts.
What is the deposit policy on your used accessible vans?
AMS Vans requires a 10% deposit to hold a wheelchair accessible vehicle. We accept Visa, MasterCard, personal or cashier checks and wire transfers. Your deposit will hold a van for up to three weeks. During this time, your deposit is fully refundable or transferable to another vehicle. If you require us to hold a van for longer than three weeks your deposit would be non-refundable.
If we deliver a van to your front door, we do charge a shipping fee and the shipping charges are non-refundable. The remaining balance of your 10% deposit will be refunded to you immediately after your van is returned to Atlanta.
Who services used wheelchair vans?
If you are within the Metro Atlanta or North Georgia area you can bring your accessible van directly to our 80,000 square foot facility. For our nationwide customers that need service please call us first and we’ll find the closest AMS approved service center in your area and schedule the appointment for you. To find a local service center please contact AMS at 1-888-860-2473.
How does the AMS Van resell value compare with other conversions?
One of the local dealers in Atlanta manipulates customers into believing that our conversion doesn’t hold its value, but it’s simple math. If you pay $10,000 more for the lowest end Dodge Grand Caravan with no power rear vents, no power driver seat and a lower grade interior, it will probably lose more value than our upgraded SE version with alloy wheels, power vents, CD player, power drivers seat, and upgraded interior. It could bring you a savings of up to $10,000. Or, you can buy our Dodge Grand Caravan SXT or Chrysler Town and Country Touring Edition and put $5,000 to $6,000 dollars back in your pocket.
How do I purchase any of the used accessible vans that I saw on your website?
